All forms of Yoga have the same goal, which is to stimulate enough the energy stored at the base of the spine, called Kundalini energy, so it stars moving up the spine.
As the energy moves up, it crosses the chakras, located at the same spot as the endocrine systems, and the person starts to experiencing different states of being. I.e.- 1st Chakra- grounding, security, survival. 2nd Chakra- fluidity, flexibility, creativity, connection. 3rd Chakra.- Energy, will power, commitment. 4th Chakra.- True Love, Kindness, and compassion, and so on. For detail information on the Chakras, click http://www.thesecretsofyoga.com/newsletter/10-2009/first_chakra.html
Through the practice of yoga, breathing techniques, bhandas, mudras, and meditation, this energy is stimulated and begins to rise up the spine.
Some forms of Yoga accelerate this process more than others. It depends greatly on the specific person, and the moment he or she is living right now, the attitude, the flexibility, etc.
Kundalini Yoga
Kundalini yoga is considered to be one of the fastest approaches to raising the kundalini energy. This is in part because all of the classes utilize pranayama (breathing techniques), asanas (positions), bhandas, mudras, meditation and relaxation. This style of yoga is appropriate for all levels.
Kundalini yoga places a great deal of importance on healing. It balances, and strengthens the nervous, endocrine systems, as well as the navel center, the electromagnetic field, etc.

Ashtanga Yoga
Ashtanga yoga is a more energetic form of yoga. Sport oriented, challenge lovers, and fitted flexible people will enjoy this type of yoga quite a bit. With this practice, one acquires great strength, and flexibility.
Practicing Ashtanga Yoga I personally experience lesser though flow by the middle of the class, and even less by the end.
Meditation is not practiced in a regular Ashtanga yoga class.
Patabbhi Jois says “Don’ t think, just practice”, or what is the same, with a continued practice & all will come.
Prenatal Yoga
This style of yoga is specific to assist the ‘mothers to be’ through their pregnancy. Prenatal Yoga can be practiced from the very first day of your pregnancy to the last.
It is important that moms know immediately the positions they need to avoid, as well as enjoy from the very first class the benefits this type of Yoga offers, which are many!
These are just some of them
• Lessens greatly all the aches & pains from the spine, and hip.
• Brings emotional balance.
• Balances the endocrine system; hormones, hormones, hormones.
• Opens the chest for deeper breathing.
• Lifts the breastbone to make more room for the baby.
• Stretches the legs wide to exercise the pelvic muscles.
• Holds the spine erect for a free flow of energy.
• Steadies emotions.
• Centers yourself to cope with change.
• Accesses the deep relaxation that lies within you.

Power Yoga
Power yoga is very similar to the Ashtanga yoga practice. The main difference is that power yoga does not follow the traditional Ashtanga asana sequence taught by Pattabhi Jois. Instead, the order of the poses are varied and other poses are added, creating a style that might be described as a modern version of Ashtanga Yoga.
Hatha Yoga
Hatha yoga is a moderate form of yoga. It is appropriate for all levels. Almost all the types of Yoga came from Hatha Yoga, because the positions are the same in all Yoga paths.
The differences are in how long you have to hold a position, or how many times you must repeat the same asana, the pace of the practice; whether or not there are rests between poses, if the room is heated, or not, if there is meditation included, pranayama (breath control), and so on.
